Mike Newcombe, Eric Fox and Davina Vincent.
The nerve centre…. of  the operation is the Freight Office. This is the domain of Freight Supervisors Mike Newcombe and Eric Fox supported by Davina Vincent. Mike and Eric are the glue that binds production, quality and port operations.  It is they who ensure that the right product is in the right place at the right time to load vessels quickly and efficiently.  Planning the right mix of road and rail transport and effective use of Fowey Dock’s buffer storage is pivotal to the whole operation. When not covering for Mike or Eric, Davina administers the Imerys light commercial vehicles, tax and insurance and company car fleet as well as keeping Mike and Eric in check. (No mean feat!)
Pete O’Shea and Jabez Foard
On the Port supervision side both Pete O'Shea and Jabez Foard are hands-on (Pete’s hand are often on a speed gun so you have been warned!) Ex gamekeeper Jabez takes care of detailing who does what.  He is also the Environmental and Quality co-ordinator. Pete is Safety co-ordinator and  working with Field Officer Steve Dyer is responsible in no small part for an excellent safety culture that saw Port & transport surpass 1000 days without an LTA last November.
No job too small…Phil Strong supervises Fowey Dock’s resident fitters Richard Hobba, Paul Dutton and Andre Lean.  Covering mechanical and electrical duties, the fitters are flat out on preventative maintenance and fault finding / fixing as well as coming up with often innovative solutions to everyday problems.  For the next few months they are assisted by third year apprentice Adam Wilkinson.
